Wolf Persistence, 35mm color slides, Twin projector, rear projection film /2025

A fixed colour image fades in and out revealing the figure of a wolf. Through multiple generations of analog copies, the normative documentary-like imagery is hijacked by its specters. A tribute to “755“, aka “Mystérieux“ shot close to Mont Racine (CH) in fall 2023, as one third of its fellows exterminated on swiss territory at that time.

In the frame of the artistic research Expanded Spectropoetics, images here focus on the figure of an animal which executions by the authorities have continuously increased in recent years, despite beeing a strictly protected species. Not just a shot interrogates the relations between human and otherthan-human and a still prevailing anthropocentric attitude.
